Simmons Wolfhagen and Cormiston Legal Merge to Create a Tasmanian Wide Firm.

We are very pleased to announce that Simmons Wolfhagen has agreed to merge the practice of Cormiston Legal in Launceston, with Simmons Wolfhagen’s practice effective 1 October 2019. The merged practice will trade as Simmons Wolfhagen.

The merger came as a result of both practices having the same values, built on a commitment to provide great service to our clients, and a strong ethos of respect in all of our communications and dealings externally and internally.  Like Simmons Wolfhagen, Cormiston Legal is a proud independent Tasmanian law firm. We don’t think that we could have found a better fit to continue to grow our practice and remain an independent Tasmanian law firm, serving the whole of the State.

The merger enables both firms to extend and enhance the services that we are able to offer to our clients throughout Tasmania.  We will continue to provide high quality, cost effective legal services across a broad range of service areas.

For those who are not familiar with Cormiston Legal’s practice, it is headed by Sam Pratt and commenced operating in Launceston in 2012. Sam’s practice in general has a very similar approach to client service as we do, providing quality legal advice with a focus on cost effective commercial results for clients. Joining Sam from Cormiston Legal will be solicitors, conveyancers and support staff primarily working across commercial and estate planning matters.

The faces you know at Simmons Wolfhagen aren’t changing and Patrick Lunn will continue as our Managing Partner.

The merged practice will continue to trade as Simmons Wolfhagen, but as an incorporated legal practice effective 1 October 2019. The existing partners of Simmons Wolfhagen are now directors of the incorporated legal practice and Sam Pratt, being the sole director of Cormiston Legal, is now a director of Simmons Wolfhagen.

Our Launceston office will operate from 45 Cameron Street, and our Hobart office will continue to operate from Level 4, 99 Bathurst Street.  All of our other contact details will remain the same.
