Krystal is a senior lawyer who has practised exclusively in the areas of deceased estates and trusts since 2012, with a particular interest in complex estate and trust administration, disputes and litigation. Prior to joining Simmons Wolfhagen Lawyers in 2025, Krystal practised in Queensland for over a decade.
Her experience includes acting for executors, trustees, beneficiaries, attorneys, testators family maintenance (TFM) applicants (meaning persons seeking provision or further provision from a deceased estate), parties involved in disputes over the payment of superannuation death benefits and other aggrieved or interested parties in non-litigious disputes or Court proceedings. Her experience in litigation includes dealing with contentious probate proceedings, Will validity disputes, TFM applications, mutual will disputes, statutory will applications, applications for judicial direction, applications to remove executors and trustees and claims for equitable relief.
Krystal also provides estate planning and estate administration advice and services, including assistance with accounting to beneficiaries or scrutinising steps taken by executors, administrators or trustees.
Krystal holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Business (majoring in Accountancy) from the Queensland University of Technology. She also holds a Master of Laws (Applied Law) majoring in Wills and Estates from The College of Law Australia and was the recipient of the Best Graduating Masters Student Prize in that field. She is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, a global association of professionals specialising in estates and trusts and a Graduate Fellow of The College of Law Australia.
Krystal has been recognised by Doyle’s Guide as a Recommended practitioner in the Leading Wills & Estates Litigation Lawyer rankings for Queensland, 2019 – 2025, and in the Leading Wills, Estates & Succession Planning Lawyer rankings for Queensland, 2022 – 2025.
