David is a very experienced and versatile senior practitioner in the firm’s litigation, insurance, employment and building & construction practice groups.
David provides timely advice on the management of both litigated and non-litigated claims and is an expert at identifying viable strategies.
As an employment lawyer, David has extensive experience in all aspects of workplace relations law including but not limited to unfair dismissals claims, general protections claims, reviewing and drafting of employment contacts, bullying claims, discrimination claims and making applications and defending claims before the Fair Work Commission and the Federal Circuit Court.
In addition to his experience as a workplace relations lawyer, David has extensive experience with respect to building and construction disputes and is able to provide legal advice and to assist with respect to any claims pursuant to the Tasmanian Building Act 2016, the Residential Building Works Contract and Dispute Resolution Act 2016 or the Building & Construction Industry Security of Payment Act 2009.
Insurance experience includes acting for both plaintiffs and defendants in the Tasmanian, ACT and NSW jurisdictions in a number of personal injury claims involving motor vehicle accidents, workers compensation and public liability claims.
With over 16 years of Court, advocacy and mediation experience, David has the skills and background to be an effective litigator and mediator.
During his career, David has also presented at numerous seminars, conferences and also in house on various legal issues and has been a member of the Tasmanian, NSW and ACT Law Societies.
